Base Pay: $20/hr to $25/hr depending on experience
This position includes working on a team to prepare a variety of plans and reports related to natural resources management and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The Natural Resources Specialist will assist with environmental reports, biological assessments, preparation of Section 404/401 Permits, Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Permit applications, and grant applications, as well as other required environmental documents for a variety of infrastructure and water resources projects in eastern Oregon and eastern Washington. The Natural Resources Specialist will be responsible for writing budgets, creating plans, conducting field work, and completing reporting requirements for these tasks.
To apply for this position, a candidate must have prior natural resources/NEPA document preparation experience, possess a BA/BS degree (masters preferred) in biology, ecology, natural resources, environmental science, or a similar discipline, and must demonstrate excellent technical writing skills. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience preparing natural resources/NEPA documentation and environmental permits, coordinating with agencies, and task/project management. Plant identification skills, wetland delineation experience, and fisheries management experience are highly desired. Some fieldwork may be required.
