Located in Central Oregon, the City of La Pine hired AP to migrate their various wastewater and water CAD files into a GIS platform. Water and sewer maps did not exist. Their CAD files originated from multiple systems and not all were georeferenced. AP compiled and organized all CAD data to the same coordinate system and extracted CAD layers to build geodatabases for each utility.
AP’s GIS team built a geometric network from the water system GIS data that was then used to develop a hydraulic model of their entire water system. The model was used to map pressure zones and to analyze the effect of possible system improvements. Wall-size hardcopy maps were delivered to the City along with their geodatabases. The GIS phase of this project was completed in under two months.
