Wastewater Systems - Case Study
AP provided planning, design, and construction administration services to the City of Umatilla during their $11 million wastewater system improvement project. The City of Umatilla had to increase the capacity of their wastewater collection and treatment system to accommodate a new state prison and growth within the community. Among the improvements were the construction of a new lift station and forcemain, a new gravity sewer and lift station, five miles of new interceptor lines, and ultraviolet disinfection facilities and aerobic digesters.
The improvements were completed in direct cooperation with the Department of Corrections, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, and the Port of Umatilla. Funding was received from the Department of Corrections, U.S.D.A. Rural Development, DEQ, and the U.S. Economic Development Administration. AP rose to the challenge of completing the project for the whole City and meeting the requirements of multiple agencies.
