Transportation Systems - Recent Project

The Catherine Creek (Miller Lane) Bridge in Union County is located on Miller Lane, near the foothills of Craig Mountain outside of the City of Union. The project replaced a historic but load-limited and structurally deficient pony truss bridge that was originally constructed around 1930. Construction of the 90-foot-long, 28-foot-wide replacement bridge was completed in about three months and involved transporting the historic truss bridge in one piece (see photo at right) to the City of Wallowa, where it will be utilized as a pedestrian bridge between the City of Wallowa and the Wallowa Band Nez Perce Trail Interpretive Center’s Homeland Project over the Wallowa River. The Miller Lane Bridge is one of six bridge replacement projects that AP has partnered with Union County to complete during the last five years.
