Transportation Systems - Case Study

Over the course of four years, AP assisted Union County in managing a partnership with the Cities of La Grande and Island City as well as the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in constructing an $8-million OTIA roadway project. The roadway improvements included constructing miles of sidewalks, curbs, amd gutters, repaving deteriorated roadways, widening streets, and adding new roadways and street traffic lights.

AP helped Union County bring together project stakeholders to reach consensus on standards, priorities, cost sharing, and construction scheduling. With the technical expertise of AP, Union County and ODOT officials were able to provide newly interconnected roadways, offer increased safety and mobility of pedestrians, and complete a project that came in under budget and on schedule, ultimately pleasing local citizens and improving the overall quality of life for residents and businesses. AP provided complete civil engineering services for these projects, from planning, coordination, and project surveying and design to project bidding, construction oversight, and project closeout.
